About Ex Corde

Ex Corde is a nonprofit, composer-led ensemble dedicated to curating concert experiences that speak across centuries. From the timeless works of Bach, Mahler, and Britten to the vibrant voices of today’s composers, we craft programs that bridge eras through music.

Founded by composers Marco Catella, Joshua DeLozier, and Yuval Medina, Ex Corde explores how the music that shaped us continues to shape our present. We bring our own compositions into dialogue with the masterworks of the past, creating immersive narratives that challenge, reflect, and resonate.

Our performances are more than concerts: they are invitations to connect, to listen deeply, and to reflect on what remains timeless in an ever-changing world. We believe that the concert hall can be a site of communion — a place where history breathes anew and where emerging ideas find their voice.

Based in New York City, we are committed to showcasing underrepresented composers, nurturing new collaborations, and bringing bold programming to new audiences. Whether in traditional venues or unconventional spaces, Ex Corde exists to celebrate the living thread of musical expression that binds generations together.
